While the idea of using one's hands as a therapeutic agent of change has only recently received attention from the scientific community, throughout its history Swedish Institute has endeavored to preserve the integrity of this ancient healing art, while also developing standards of practice to meet the demands of modern times. Its Massage Therapy Program leads to an Associate in Occupational Studies degree. Students can attend classes during morning, afternoon or evening hours. Full-time students attend five classes per week, each class lasting four hours, for a total of 20 hours a week. A part-time option is also available.
